Anon asks I am in conflict with the majority and am looking for support. Our 3 year old is multilimgual and doesnt fit the social mold of 99% of kids her age and their judgement of her harms us both. She rarely speaks to others (aside from my family) and takes a long time to warm up when she does eventually speak or respond. Im hoping that as she gets older she will find the interest and kind of let it go. I dont want her to feel like she must be social to people she is not close to after all, I always heard, if you want an exceptional child, do exceptional things. I feel as though my letting this be is exceptional, meaning against the grain. Any experience with this behaviour? Is it natural and we as a society condition it to be unnatural? Any way I can help her gently or others who have let it go and saw improvement? Or any advise as to how to deal with others judgement of her and me, as a parent?
