Another Milestone covered by Aam Aadmi Party Assam……… Here is a story of a 10 year old girl and her suffering for last two years (since 2011). Her name is Parbin Begum, daughter of Md. Sultan Ali, a daily wage earner and a resident of 1 No. Mathgharia, Gaon Burha Path, Pattharquerry, Narengi, Guwahati. It was one morning of December, 2011. Ms. Parbin Begum went for school from her house atop hill. Suddenly she fell down from the steep slope and got severely injured. Her right leg was broken. Then her parents took her to Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH). There she got operated and doctor had fitted one steel plate to her leg. After few days, doctor discharged her from hospital and advised her parents to take her for regular check-ups. One had spent like that. But instead of recovery, her wound started to rot and one bolt came out of the steel plate. Then her parents took her to Dispur Polyclinic with a hope to get better treatment. There also she got operated. For that her father Md. Sultan Ali had to spend another Rs. 50,000/-. He borrowed the amount of money from his friends and neighbours. In Dispur Polyclinic, doctor had removed the steel plate which was earlier fitted in GMCH and again they had fitted another steel plate and after four days she was discharged from the nursing home. But here also she was not able to recover. Her wound get worst day by day. Now her parents have no money to spend for her treatment. So, her parents approached to local political leaders including the present Ward Councilor of Narengi Pattharquerry area. They even tried to meet the MLA of Dispur Assembly Constituency Mr. Akon Bora who is also one of the powerful Cabinet Minister of Assam. But Md. Sultan Ali could not able to meet him. They could not able to find solutions of this problem and were looking for help from public. In between we have got Md. Sultan Ali’s contact no. through one local media and I had talked to him over phone regarding this the day before yesterday (i.e., 7th October, 2013). I had talked to him in detail and today, I and Mr. Gurpreet Singh Uppal went to his place at Narengi, met the girl personally. Gurpreet da then talked to his friend Dr. Lalit Shah, who is an orthopedic surgeon and took appointment. Dr. Lalit Shah gave us appointment immediately despite of his journey outside Assam. He then checked the girl’s wound carefully and gave us words that he is going to treat the girl on his own with special attention. Dr. Lalit Shah said that this treatment will take one year time to make the girl fully recovered. He also said that the entire treatment will cost in between 1 Lakh to 1.3 Lakhs excluding his charges. He will not charge any consultation fee. But this is not the end of the story…….. To our surprise Dr. Lalit Shah called one of the common friend of his and Gurpreet Singh Uppal to bear the entire treatment cost (i.e., 1 lakh – 1.3 Lakhs). More surprisingly that honest fellow immediately “Agreed” to spend the entire treatment cost. This is what we call the “HUMANITY”…………… By this I would like to thank Dr. Lalit Shah for his kindness. My heartiest thanks to that HONEST FRIEND (his name cannot be disclosed since he requested us to do so). And lastly my thanks goes to Mr. Gurpreet Singh Uppal for his kind support and pain in taking the girl and her parents to the doctor. I cannot forget you three guy’s help in making this event successful. Now we hope that Ms. Parbin Begum will again play, dance and enjoy the rest of her life to the fullest. Aam Aadmi Zindabad……..!!!!
