Answering the Bible Agnostics Gottcha Question. Hi Kalispell C. You ask What was the infallible, inerrant and perfect Bible before the King James Bible. It is a good question and one that I think needs to be answered. I will answer it for you, as I understand it. But keep firmly in mind what YOUR position is in all this. You dont think there EVER was a perfect and infallible Bible in any language (66 books in one volume) and you dont believe there is one NOW. So try not to go all hypocritically ballistic when I give you my answer, OK? There was no perfect Bible before the KJB. There were some that were pretty close, but there was a purification process going on. Here is this thought developed for you and others. Was there a perfect Bible before the King James Bible? or Does the King James Bible only position “blow up”? brandplucked.webs/kjbonlyblowup.htm Part of what you will see here is this - As the King James Bible translators themselves wrote in their Preface: “Truly, good Christian reader, we never thought, from the beginning, that we should need to make a new translation, nor yet to make of a bad one a good one; but TO MAKE A GOOD ONE BETTER, or OUT OF MANY GOOD ONES ONE PRINCIPAL GOOD ONE, NOT JUSTLY TO BE EXCEPTED AGAINST that hath been our endeavour, that our mark. The King James Translators also wrote: Nothing is begun and perfected at the same time, and the later thoughts are the thoughts to be the wiser: so if we build upon their foundation that went before us, and being holpen by their labors, do endeavor to make better which they left so good...if they were alive would thank us...the same will shine as gold more brightly, being rubbed and polished. Now, Kalispel, since turn about is fair play, can you tell us where the infallible, inerrant and perfect words of God are found NOW? Any ideas? Or dont you believe that such a thing exists? Thanks.
