Anyone who hasnt had the opportunity to go through the Macon County Historical Society Museum, should take the time to do so today before they close for the winter. The museum is open today from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. The volunteers there have put so much work in to the place and there are 3 floors full of really interesting things to see (military displays, old sanitorium cells, artifacts from all over Macon County, mining stuff, old farm equipment & tools, horse drawn carriages/sleds, old toys, old kitchen items, Blees Academy memorabilia, railroad items,an old grain mill which has been rebuilt inside the building on the 2nd floor, a geneaology section with many records, Civil War items, and the list goes on and on and on)... Come on out and see all the neat things there are to see! The MCHS Museum is located on the South Side of Macon, on the West side of Highway 63 (between Lakeview Towers and the YMCA). There is no cost for admission (thought donations are always appreciated), so come on out and experience everything there is to see!
