Anytime anyone in authority carries out an act that affects a large swathes of the populace or any other specific demographic you run the risk of incurring certain unforeseen consequences. It is my sincere belief that the so called war on terror has to be won in the hearts and minds of every citizen regardless of race ethnicity religion by men and women who are empowered by the belief that they have an equal stake in our society are subject to the same laws and are entitled to the same rights as everyone else and are not discriminated against in any way. And that terrorists are in fact THE ONLY ENEMY to our COLLECTIVE progress, peace, prosperity & well being which is evidenced by their cowardly actions. I therefore cannot see what objective is met by needlessly antagonising whole communities unless you believe that somehow its all a nefarious conspiracy by alien forces and THEY are all in on it...Whereas many of the consequences of government action may still be unforeseen some you can telegraph coming a mile away 1) the communities targeted will be more resentful of authority and therefore less likely to co-operate with the state on anything let alone security matters. 2) and in worst case you may breed a new crop of terrorist sympathisers and saboteurs you are helping radicalise to believe that they have no place in that society. 3) this exercise will serve as a cash cow for officers the running joke in south c is your ID or ksh 5,000 will suffice as proof of identity thus further perpetrating vice and entrenching impunity and not solving the problem that was intended! I dont know who is advising government on security issues but they clearly need a help. #southCraid
