Apostasy (Perverting the TRUTH of the Gospel). by David Fleming 31/07/2014 2 Thessalonians 2:12 - That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. . What is the truth? Well the truth is the gospel, Eph 1:13 which declares, that Jesus is the Savior; And God speaks that, all who believe, receive, eternal life. John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 8:32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, False Teachers turn your ears away from the truth! 2 Timothy 4:4 - And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Timothy 4:3 - For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; People are seeking earthly financial blessings when God, commanded to the apostles not to carry any gold or silver and to work with the labor of their own hands. Earthly riches is not the key here, heavenly riches are what we should be striving for, working a labor of love for our rewards in heaven. We were bought with the precious blood of Jesus, whose value knows no end (eternal), yet churches today are teaching the people to seek after earthly riches and no mention of winning souls or the eternal value of the precious blood of Jesus. These false teachers turn the peoples ears away from the truth which is the FREE GIFT of eternal life for all who simply believe the gospel.. These WOLVES speak evil of the truth which is the gospel which leads them to devalue the eternal value of the blood of Jesus. Heb 10:29 KJV. 2 Peter 2:1 - 2:2 1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of TRUTH shall be EVIL spoken of. Man is warned not to corrupt nor pervert the simplicity of Christ, who is the truth and the only way to the father, Thus, by simple faith in his finished work alone we receive eternal life.. 2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. The post trib folk pervert the gospel of Paul, 1 Cor 15:1-4 by adding on that we have to love our lives NOT unto death, by REFUSING to take the mark of the beast, Rev 14. This error, come about, because of mans failure to rightly divide his word of truth. Post Trib folks claim to believe in eternal security yet they add another gospel (Rev 14:9-12, Rev 12:11) on to 1 Cor 15:1-4 KJV. We are warned not to receive any other gospel, not even from an angel from heaven; And, the reason for this is that, God is going to send and angel to preach the gospel of rejecting the mark, during the time of Jacobs Trouble.. This is a time for Israel which is known as the great tribulation period; And we have been saved from his WRATH to come so we shall not go through this period of Gods wrath. Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be SAVED from WRATH through him. Gal 1:6-9 KJV 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. Those who pervert the gospel, add works on to it; but, Jesus left us a simple example of his free gift of salvation with the thief on the cross. First, let me make the point, which is that; God is not a respecter of persons. This means that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; therefore, salvation has to be the same for EVERY MAN. Rom 3:23 KJV. The thief simply admitted his sinful state before God (Jesus) and placed his faith in Jesus for eternal forgiveness, eternal life. He was nailed to the cross, thus he couldnt perform any religious work, such as: turning or ceasing from sins to be saved, nor could he receive water baptism as none of these things are required for to receive salvation. All these churches who corrupt the simplicity of the gospel, teach that you must keep the 10 commandments and the Sabbath to be saved when the word begs to differ completely which makes them liars who speak evil of the truth. Acts 15:24 24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and KEEP the LAW: to whom we gave NO such COMMANDMENT: Colossians 2:16,17, Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the SABBATH DAYS: Which are a SHADOW of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Jesus is LORD of the Sabbath, he is the reality of the Old Testament Sabbath, so by faith in him, we enter our final resting place trough belief in Jesus as our savior and because you have believed in your need for a savior, you have admitted that you are a sinner who needed saving. Heb 4:1-6 KJV. Matthew 12:8 8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day. All who believe (receive) Jesus, find eternal rest Matthew 11:28-29 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Those who reject Jesus shall die in their sins. John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. These Christ rejectors fall short of the promise by rejecting the promised Savior, Heb 4:1-6, therefore they cannot enter his rest, which is eternal life,.through their unbelief . No water baptism, no living a good life, no tongues, no rosary bead, no praying to Mary the Queen of Heaven, no confessing sins to an earthly priest. No purgatory, no enduring or persevering to the end, no religious act is required for salvation as one is simply to place his/her faith in Jesus alone for eternal forgiveness, eternal life.. The thief on the cross is a wonderful example of how the believer is solely kept by Gods promise as Jesus who is God cannot lie; for it is impossible for God to lie.. Jesus is the one who promised the thief eternal life and because God is not a respecter of persons, that promise He made to the thief also applies to us who have believed the gospel unto everlastig life. The thief didnt promise Jesus that he would live a good life as he simply placed his faith in Jesus promise, to take his soul to paradise after his death.. The thief believed that Jesus would live again after he died on the cross and Jesus, remained true to his promise to take the thief with him to paradise, for he is FAITHFUL that promised.. If Jesus remained true to the thief on the cross, he will keep his promise to us also, for he is not a man that he should lie as his promise of eternal life, stands forever to all who believe amen. Let us look at our eternal saviors promises to us as recorded in scripture Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christs, then are ye Abrahams seed, and HEIRS ACCORDING TO PROMISE Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began 1 John 2:25 And this is the PROMISE that he hath promised us, even ETERNAL LIFE. Hebrews 10:23 (KJV) 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrews 6:17-18 (KJV) 17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: 18 That by two immutable (unchangeable) things, in which it was IMPOSSIBLE for God to LIE, we might have a STRONG CONSOLATION (comfort), who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Hebrews 13:5King James Version (KJV) 5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Numbers 23:19: God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? God wants us to take him at his word as recorded in the scriptures so that we can know that we have eternal life now. John 20:31, “But these are WRITTEN , that ye might BELIEVE that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that BEIEVING ye might have life through his name.” 1 John 5:13 These things have I WRITTEN unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have ETERNAL LIFE, and that ye may BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God. John 3:16 (King James Version) Edit For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. JOHN 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Fathers hand. JOHN 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. JOHN 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that HEARETH my WORD, and BELIEVETH on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is PASSED from DEATH unto LIFE. If you have believed the written RECORD that God gave of his Son as recorded in the scriptures you have the holy spirit (witness) in you. 1 JOHN 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the RECORD that God gave of his Son. If you believe in Jesus as your personal SAVIOR, you have overcome the world already. 1 JOHN 5:4-5 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that BELIEVETH that Jesus is the Son of God? God has provided EVER LASTNG COMFORT for those who have believed (Consolation meaning) A person or thing providing such comfort, so God is providing everlasting comfort. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us EVERLASTNG CONSOLATION (comfort) and good hope through GRACE, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. (ALL PAST TENSE)# Praise God that we have his word as recorded in the scriptures to comfort us, which gives us confidence to boast about our eternal Savior, so that we can win souls to Christ for his glory amen.
