As a Melanesian, of Solomon Island and Fijian descent, I have a limited understanding of Sovereignty. But I know enough, that People have died and are still dying, because of it. Our lands were never taken from us, our ceremonies are still performed today and our language is still spoken today. I can say that. Alot of my people from Fiji and the Solomons, have no understanding of Sovereignty. We still are landlords and custodians. That is why, I will stand with my Brothers and Sisters, to talk on Sovereignty and Rights in the Pacific. Give my family their RIGHTS to Sovereignty in the Pacific, We are not a classified group of people, as you have labeled us!! We know, how the Earth speaks to us, how the Ocean breathes. We are unique to this part of the world, with an ancient way of life. We are scientist, healers, and law givers. Right now, All the Laws that are and have been sacred to us, for generations before us, have been broken. Our Sacredness has been violated. It must be restored and honored, if we are to live..Please make a stand with us, to show the world, we all have RIGHTS!!!!!!! E kIA kAHA KO TE TANGATA WHENUA , MAI TE PITO TE WHENUA: PROUD AND NOBLE, WORRIORS OF THE LAND, FROM THE NAVEL OF THE WORLD!!!!
