As a parent and grandparent I am deeply concerned for the thousands of children who have crossed the border illegally to flee violence, poverty and hunger, mostly in Central America. The worst country seems to be El Salvador, which is governed by an old far left freedom fighter LOL, Salvador Caren, from the FMLN, much of which was eliminated in joint US and El Salvador operations back in the 80s. Caren was a high level commander, killing many innocents in the process of taking back the government, then run by THE FOURTEEN FAMILIES. They did their share of course for decades to the Salvadoran people. The other problem to ponder is the MS 13 Gang, operating freely in the U.S., Mexico and Central America, now with around 70,000 members. The C.I.A. estimates that MS 13 is mostly responsible for the trafficking of children, earning between 700 and 7,000 per child to make the journey, and leave them near the U.S. border, and disappear back into Mexico, which is doing little to deal with them. Interestingly, this State Department, apparently with the Presidents knowledge is suppling millions of dollars in aid and worse, small arms to El Salvadors corrupt government, thereby assuring its continuing threat to its own people and children. The unintended consequences of the killing of many of the left wing leaders in the late 70s and through the 80s, is now exposed. Tell your elected representatives to STOP sending money and arms to the thugs in El Salvador. They are committed leftists, so dont hold your breath.
