As always, the crooked part of boxing surfaces . . . I have spent the past half century involved with boxing in a variety of capacities. Boxing has always been crooked, and always will be. You will be treated to many great boxing matches in the future, just as in the past, but dont expect to see a boxer rewarded for actually outfighting and out boxing his opponent. The promoters have an agenda, and it is well understood by the judges that score these bouts. The officials are part of the crooked part of boxing, they will always go with the money, the House Fighter. There are truly honest officials in boxing, but they are carefully pushed aside when it comes to the big money fights, in favor of those who play the game. The promoters know that the fans will buy anything, and have short memories when it comes to what they saw. That is why you have to question the facts behind boxing history, and be careful what you believe when written by boxing historians who get all of their info written copy. Like everything else in life, history is altered by politics, not truth. -Rick Farris
