As some of you may already know the rivers around St. johns are all but devoid of brown trout this year. There was some discussion about the cause of this. One of the ideas was the cormorants populating the rivers. If they are killing all the brown trout I can only imagine what these birds could do to the salmon populations in the region. Especially considering the overpopulation now happening within the city. Cormorants are on the protected species list so they can be difficult to remove.This article provides some information on how to deal with them.
