As yet another example lay before us with Ferguson and the execution of Michael Brown. The reality is we white Americans were taught and sold on the ideals of American apartheid. We have been educated and molded to believe the lies and fantasies that black folks by default hold little or no value as compared to whites. These racist notions have become who we are as a nation and as people, that is clear. But all white people do have a choice because of the racism our culture created, yes its not our problem. This racism was designed for us whites, it only benefits us, it only serves us, so again yes it is not our problem, this is OUR white privilege and no one elses. So yes we may choose. We may choose to either remain eternally immoral lost in denial, in silence, in fear, in indifference, in defense, in apathy and wilfully ignorant as to how our systems of government, our culture and our nations institutions have created a living hell for brown and black folks. Or we may choose to be morally responsible, face these uncomfortable truths head on, stand in solidarity with our brown and black brothers and sisters in the long fight for racial justice and equality by actively acknowledging these truths and then most importantly boldly (and I do mean boldly) speaking up and standing up against our culture and system of white supremacy. The 6 Steps to White Racial Responsibility. (As I see them) 1. To FIND THE MORAL TRUTH AND COURAGE by first realizing we white people are the privileged benefiters from slavery and from our culture of systemic and endemic white supremacy. Then we must learn to let go of our greed and fear that keeps us irrationally clinging to the dominant position, privileges and benefits that white supremacy has given us - in order that we may put behind us our years of cultural white supremacist training, thought and values by facing the very hard uncomfortable racially about our self, our race, our culture and our country. 2. To COME TO A PLACE emotionally, intellectually and consciously free of the white bias frame in which we view people of color. 3. To LISTEN, LEARN, AND BELIEVE what people of color are saying about their life racially in America. 4. To REACH OUT to people of color through simple, sincere and genuine friendships that is free of white supremacist notions and biases. 5. To ACT on your new racially unbiased truth and reality, by speaking up and providing accountability when you witness other whites, establishments or institutions speaking, behaving, or performing in a white supremacist manner. 6. To PASS IT ON by telling and sharing your new racially unbiased truth and reality, with your white friends, family and co-workers. These 6 steps are just a guide, but we all have to act morally responsible by clearing out and rejecting our culture of toxic racial apathy, arrogance, denial and fear in regards to dealing with race. We have to all look in the mirror and own up to the ubiquitous, endemic, and insidious disease called white supremacy that our culture created and desperately clings to simply out of greed and fear. We have to each face the hard truth that our country and people created a great evil called white supremacy out of the love of money and power in order that our white race could thrive at the abuse, expense, exploitation and detriment of people of color. Never forget your white privilege. The black and white American experience. Most white people will absolutely experience racism once or twice in their life time. Most black people experience racism on a monthly, weekly or daily basis. Ive even heard some cases on an hourly basis. People of color are potentially a victim of racism with every passing moment throughout life. Yes the choice is ours. Jorge Moran
