At last years Venture Crush event, Bing Gordon from Kleiner Perkins kicked it off with a poem and challenged me to a wrestling match. Today, I wrote and read this poem from stage, currently titled A Nod to Bing. Its venture crush east in a most historic and swank hall. Last year it was Times Square. Bing challenging me to wrestle, winner take all. Who is the next twitter, whatsapp, Instagram, or Facebook? If its you, dont forget to give this cross eyed Jew from the upper west side a look. Can we think of a host much better than lowenstein sandler? Of course, Jonah Peretti, his sis Chelsea, or the other Chelsea named Handler. Today is a celebration of innovation and hustle. Tomorrow we forget all that was said and go back to the bustle. (One quick reminder, pay your legal bill on time, or Ed will send in his muscle) Speaking of Ed, he works harder than sunshine in may. Series A B C Ds and of course M&A. Buckle up Ladies and gents, the VCs here will give you the map. And if Ed does his job, he will get rid of that convertible debt cap. VCs are pack wolves, separating signal from noise. Fresh ideas? Rarely if ever from these khaki wearing sharks with expensive toys. A few bust their butts for us and of those, i am a fan. Specially now that protesters in San Francisco will hijack your bus to work. As for my friend kleiner perkins, I never did wrestle with that nut.
