BOCH DEVOTIONAL: “Berean spirit” As a child of God, his desire is that you grow up to maturity and that is to the full stature of Jesus Christ (Eph 4:13). So this happens as you increase in the knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ and thereby see these things happening in your life. There are many avenues by which this knowledge comes but the sum of it all is in the word of God. This calls for you to search the scriptures as an individual. When you listen to a sermon, take time to search for yourself to establish whether these things are so. This is the Berean spirit; when Paul preached to these guys they went back and searched the scriptures to confirm what he was saying then they believed (Acts 17:10-12). So they received with readiness and then went back and searched. This is the kind of Spirit you should carry, be ready to receive and then go back and search and let the word be confirmed in your Spirit. When this happens the word shall be grounded and rooted in you.
