BRACE BARBADOS - Your govt should be doing this, and Ministers with lead responsibility for economic affairs, consumer affairs, intl business and energy should be addressing us on critical matters. However still asleep at the switch, while our economy burns. Three things have occurred recently which will negatively impact the consumer pocket and job security. Tourism arrivals and earnings are down, as the Almond income and airline seats have not been replaced, so our foreign reserves are down, and as yet no viable plan for boosting earnings has been announced. Secondly the Intl Business sector has had a hard lash from a budget passed in Canada which could affect our offshore registrations here, so income and foreign exchange may drop again. The Minister of Intl Business was too slow in launching an appeal before the budget measures were passed. Too late now. If that was not bad enough Four Seasons will not happen soon, please pray for it to start. Now the current Ukraine crisis is already raising oil and wheat prices which will negatively impact our pockets.
