BREWING DISCONTENT Ire of disappointed aspirants stare BJP in Bikaner dist L K Chhajer TNN Bikaner: Like other parts of the state, in Bikaner BJP is facing the ire of disappointed leaders and supporters in Nokha and Lunkaransar constituencies from where the party has launched two new faces according to the caste-based calculation. From Lunkaransar constituency BJP has declared Sumit Godara as its candidate, which has shaken veteran BJP leader Manik Chand Surana, who has announced to fight election independently. Similarly at Nokha constituency, BJP has selected Sahi Ram Vishnoi as its candidate, which has resulted into protest among the supporters of Bihari Lal Vishnoi, who lost the previous assembly election to independent candidate Kanhaiya Lal Jhanwar and was expecting a ticket this time too. Supporters of Bihari Lal have resigned from their party posts in Nokha. After facing this discontent in Lunkaransar and Nokha, BJP has withheld the declaration of its candidates from Bikaner (West) constituency, where the sitting MLA Gopal Joshi is a strong contender. Joshi is facing strong protest from within the party and due to this the state BJP leadership has dissolved the Bikaner unit of BJP. Among others, O P Harsh and Mahesh Vyas are also strong contenders from Bikaner (West) constituency and are demanding a ticket. Congress party is also facing a similar situation in deciding candidates from Bikaner (East) and Khajuwala constituencies. Dr. Tanveer Malawat (lost the last assembly election from this seat), salim Bhati , UIT Chairman Maqsood Ahmed, Mayor Bhawani Shankar Sharma and social activist & Gharsana Hero Vallabh Kochar are among others, who have claimed a ticket from Bikaner (East) constituency. BJP has already declared Siddhi Kumari as its candidate from this seat. She won the last assembly election by a margin of more than 18,000 votes. This time Congress wants to launch a strong candidate against Siddhi Kumari and for that the party is calculating caste-based factors. Similarly, Congress party has been facing difficulties in selecting a candidate from Khajuwala reserved constituency. Govind Ram Meghwal (was earlier in BJP, later formed an independent organization) has applied for Congress membership and also claims for the party ticket from this constituency. Meghwal said if Congress will not give him the ticket, then he will fight the election as an independent candidate turning the election into a triangular fight. Local Congress supporters and workers are opposing Meghwal’s nomination. There are chances that BJP and Congress will declare their candidates from Bikaner (West), Bikaner (East) and Khajuwala assembly constituencies at the last moment keeping in view the rebellion attitude of the claimants and the supporters of the would-be candidates. There will be triangular fight in Nokha where Congress has selected Rameshwar Dudi, BJP has nominated Sahi Ram Vishnoi as its candidate and sitting MLA Kanhaiya Lal Jhanwar will fight as an independent candidate. Lunkaransar is likely to witness triangular fight too as veteran BJP leader Manik Chand Surana has announced to fight the election as an Independent candidate against Virendra Beniwal (Congress) and Sumit Godara (BJP).
