BRING HER TO BRP SIERRA MADRE IN SPRATLY WITH HER COHORTS! MANILA, Philippines (2nd UPDATE) – Alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles was transferred from her detention cell in Fort Sto Domingo in Sta Rosa, Laguna to the Ospital ng Makati on Monday night, March 31, to undergo surgery. Napoles was accompanied by Senior Superintendent Roberto Fajardo, chief of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG), in a PNP pick-up. At least 6 vehicles were part of the convoy, including two ambulances. Personnel from the PNP Special Action Force and Highway Patrol Group also joined the convoy. According to Makati City police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban, Napoles will be spending her first night inside the hospital resting. Doctors took her blood pressure and said no other tests would be done past midnight. Lukban said Napoles is confined inside a small air-conditioned room with its own bathroom and seats to accommodate up to two people. He added that the controversial figure is unlikely to share her room with another patient since there was only one bed inside. Hindi ito yung VIP na kumpleto, Lukban told reporters outside the hospital. (Its not a VIP room with complete amenities.) Her husband, Jaime Napoles, was with her in the hospital. Also with her were her regular close-in security, composed of at least one female police officer on duty. Tests begin April 1 Napoles was not wearing a bullet proof vest when she stepped out of the police pick-up truck because she was feeling weak during the trip from Laguna. Nabanggit rin kanina ng CIDG... pag-alis nila doon may vest na nakahanda but along the way, parang nanghihina na raw si Mrs Napoles... kaya pinayagan nilang mag-alis ng vest at maglakad nang maayos, said Lukban. (The CIDG prepared a bullet proof for Napoles but along the way, she was already feeling weak. We allowed her to remove the vest and just walk to the hospital.) On Tuesday, April 1, Napoles will go through a work out period to determine if she is healthy enough to undergo surgery. The Makati Regional Trial Court on Friday, March 28, granted the petition of Napoles for hospital treatment to remove a myoma that was discovered in her uterus during medical exams at the Camp Crame General Hospital. She had wanted to be confined at the more posh St Lukes Medical Center in Taguig City, but was instead allowed by Judge Elmo Alameda to stay at the Ospital ng Makati, a public facility, because the prosecution opposed St Lukes. (READ: Why its St. Lukes or bust for Napoles) Napoles herself had requested the court on Friday, March 21, to allow her to undergo surgery and be allowed confinement. According to her lawyers, Napoles did not want confinement in any government facility because of a bad experience she had when she underwent medical exams at the Camp Crame hospital. Conflicting results from two different hospitals, according to Napoles, have fueled her worries. These prompted her to appeal for confinement in St Lukes. read more: rappler/nation/54349-napoles-transfer-ospital-ng-makati photo credits: static.rappler/images/napoles-transfer-osmak-rappler-20140331.jpg
