Back from my first trip to Reno in two weeks! Picked up my new hair at UPS. I put it on straight out of the box. (Note the unusual absence of lightning bolts or downpours.) Also note photo bomber. Self portraiture is a bit tricky. (Gee Steph, what big feet you have!) You know you are in Tahoe when you get a little post-it note stuck on your front door that basically tells you that you must sign in person to receive the package. So I went online to select will call, as the UPS place is not too far away. A little bit later UPS called and said to come in and pick up the package at 9. I was a little like huh? because the website said pickup was between 1 and 5. Oh well, its Tahoe and were special, right? So I go to the UPS place at a little after 9. Doors locked with TWO big signs saying open from 1 to 5. No sign of life. So I figure its Tahoe, and I will come back when the sign says. I make it back from Reno, cross-town through the utterly brainless tourist traffic (they are unfamiliar), construction detours (I think there were 4) and to the place at 4:30. I turn in my slip and say, nicely I was told to be here at 9 but the door was locked and it looked like nobody was here. Oh there was somebody here. You just have to bang on the door real hard So adding to my list of Tahoe rules: If the sign says theyre closed, bang on the door real hard. Probably yelling Hello real loud would be helpful as well. Yes, I take things literally.
