Because of an injury I have been told to avoid running long distances, trail runs and speed work. That pretty much takes me out of any kind of training for the running goals that I have. I have to postpone the start of my marathon training and skip quite a few training sessions with the club, as well as forget about a PB in Parkrun any time soon. Now I could sit watching everyone else train and feel sorry for myself, OR I can focuss on what I CAN do. So while hardcore training is out of question, Ive recruited myself as a pacer in Parkrun and I am getting some miles in, as well as helping someone else make progress. Todays result - Ellie-May sliced off more than a minute off her last weeks 5K time! Amazing achievement for us both, so chuffed for you Ellie!:) Its all about progress guys. Focuss on what you CAN rather than what you CANT do, that way you will always be moving forward xxx
