*Because sometimes to remain anonymous we remain victims.* - Heidi Markow Since the Beginning Over Foundation began, part of what keeps founder Heidi Markow moving forward are the stories of health and healing from survivors. Safety is always the number one priority, but part of rebuilding and renewal comes from speaking out and letting our voices be heard. It is the freedom to share our stories - when once our freedom was so limited -that we celebrate. We came across this article from years past that told an inspiring tale of fortitude and resilience in the midst of chaos and uncertainty. The author shared a quote from Heidi Markow that states “Because sometimes to remain anonymous we remain victims.” As another year closes and a new year is set to begin, we want to encourage those brave voices that will not be silenced to continue to be heard. We also want to share with those that have yet to speak out how healing it can be to raise your voice along side us. We are here to listen. We are here to help. In 2015 we hope to read even more articles with brave voices uplifted about the injustices of domestic violence and abuse. By speaking out you are encouraging others to examine their own lives and realize they are worthy of something greater. We are many, and we are strong.
