Been listening to this song a lot the last couple of days. Not sure what the title is, (probably Here Am I Lord) but it is by Zach & Allison Whitsel. I dont want the verses to be true of our church, but I do want the chorus to be the prayer of our hearts. As our iniquity abounds our love grows cold…our tears have dried because His story has gotten old. And our burden for the lost has been replaced with a lust for this world’s gold. It’s been ages since the Holy Ghost sent rain…and the floors in our prayer closet aren’t tear stained. We’re too busy chasing pleasures, having fun…and being entertained. Chorus: And as I look around this world, I see pain. I see sinners that are thirsty for your rain. But if they never hear Your Word how will they see? Here am I Lord…send me. We soothe our conscience sending pennies overseas…while the needy live in hunger on our streets. Our widows are unvisited and our money is spent on ease and vanity. There is not a program that our churches haven’t tried…to imitate the move of God and look alive. But our prides gave us a form of godliness, and His power we have denied. Chorus: And as I look around this world, I see pain. I see sinners that are thirsty for your rain. But if they never hear Your Word how will they see? Here am I Lord…send me. Refrain: Lord, I know Your children don’t have time to waste…You must be lifted high and we must be amazed. If they never hear Your Word how will they see? Here am I Lord…send me. Here am I Lord…send me.
