Shami Chakrabrati CBE is director of the civil liberties advocacy organisation Liberty. She was a member of the panel of the Leveson Inquiry, a judicial inquiry into hone hacking in the UK. She is the Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University, Visiting Fellow of Nuffield College, Oxford and a Master of the Bench of Middle Temple. She was one of eight bearers of the Olympic Flag at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics. On Liberty is her first book. This event is part of the Festival of Politics.
