Before turning in for the evening last night, I listened to one of my stations on iHeart Radio. I heard a duet that was clear, harmonious, and touchingly sung with such beauty. The theme of the song was that life is somewhat like a small river...carrying us along. But we are required to provide some effort to make that journey...often over and over. We must continue to move forward, often-times with caution and care. Yet, we have to maintain our hearts and minds with joy and optimism, for this life does not last...it is brief...like a nights sleep. I already knew the words to the song. Here they are: Row, row, row YOUR boat. Gently!...down the stream. Merrily! Merrily! Merrily! Merrily!....life...is but a dream! Wander through your mind to that room where you keep (hopefully) some of the good thoughts of your childhood and find that place where you stored those shoe-boxes full of pleasant memories. When you open one or two, you may find that the paint or cloth of those moments have faded. But the simplicity, clarity, and wisdom remain undimmed, and you will recognize them.
