Being foolish is easy: just bite off more than you can chew. While - TopicsExpress

Being foolish is easy: just bite off more than you can chew. While attending a marriage ceremony, I thought the horse on which the bridegroom was riding looked familiar. On closer inspection, I found that it was indeed Sultan, with his bones sticking out of his ribs. Learning that he was being hired out for various ceremonies and functions, I forcibly bought the nag back. Not knowing what to do with him, I put him in a truck and sent him along with an attendant to Manali. Then there was Bagh Singh, my ex-driver who had burnt his face off at considerable headache and expense to me, who clung to my knees till I allowed him to accompany him to my new home. On the way, I found that he was spitting blood : this was diagnosed as good old tuberculosis, and I had to rush to Shimla to get the blighter checked and from there I took him back (where else ?) to Delhi. So my baggage and Sultan are in my crumbling home in Manali and I am stuck in Delhi with this codger, who is improving and, after we have noted and purchased all his medicines, we’ll be able to return tomorrow in a taxi. So, my dearest friends, I was again eminently successful In making a mess of my life and, by George, I deserve a drink. Speaking of drinks, I set fire to my bar in Jaipur before leaving; but that is a different story. So that, my dear friends is what I have been up to. And yes - please stop laughing.
