“Best Hometown food and ambience” 5.0 of 5 stars We were looking for a good place to go for lunch while traveling on I-94 in Michigan near Warren Dunes. My son-in-law did a search on Deli instead of Subway or sandwich and we found this place in Baroda. Since we are originally from Baroda (India), we decided to look into this place. Now, this place is not right on the exit like so many other fast food joints are. You have to drive through farm roads for about 3-4 miles to get to this place but it is worth every drop of gas you use to get there. It is a nice country road and mostly no traffic. Use google maps or tripadvisor map if you need directions. Once you get there, the people make you feel right at home. they are so down to earth nicest people. We were three generations of my family and they made us feel very welcome and at home. Now the food. They make excellent soups. My son-in-law loved their Chili, he made us stop by to get another bowl on our return trip from Michigan. I liked my cream of Broccoli and Clam Chowder on my return trip. The reason they taste so good is because they use mostly locally produced vegetables that are fresh. The sandwiches we ordered were served on daily baked fresh bread with fresh farm tomatoes and lettuce. The portions were so generous, I could not finish all they had served. And one best advise, save some room for one of the best home cooked pies and cookies. Their cookies are humongous and so good , we packed some for the road. This place have so many options for lunch, you will find something interesting. But the hometown feeling they give you is so good once you visit, you will want to stop every time you are passing by on I-94 in this neck of woods. Just remember if you are eastbound to take exit 16 and exit 23 if westbound on I-94 in Michigan. I may update or add to this review as I get back to Florida and have more time and memories . But dont pass this place if you are in the neighborhood on I-94 between exit 16 and 23. You will never find a place as unique as this anywhere else!
