Blue Cross Blue Shield wants to stop coverage for the supervision of applied behavior analysis (ABA) programs, which is the most recommended type of therapy for children on the autism spectrum. Therefore assessing a childs progress, making new programs, conducting team meetings, overseeing direct therapists, adapting programs, etc. will no longer be paid for; even though they are vital aspects of a QUALITY program. This will affect families in receiving reliable & valid comprehensive programming and itll affect all BCBAs who work with insurance.
