Bob Goshen speaks: I was up early this morning headed for the airport by 5AM. As I looked forward I could not help but see a large GPS on the dash of the cab. The traffic was pretty heavy to be so early but as I watched the cars pass I kept thinking how many people have GPS in their car or on their phone and use it to determine where they are driving. I began to think how many of the folks in the cars have a GPS for navigation but yet have not set a personal GPS for their life goals. I begin to think of the letters GPS and found myself saying Goal-Plan-System. You see in life you must continue to set new goals, what is it that you would like to accomplish in the next 90 days? I here folks speak of long term goals and short term goals but my friends if you cant achieve a short term goal you should not worry about the long term. Goals are a dream or vision with a date assigned to them. I wish to be or have ________________in 90 days. I do not hope for this goal to happen but rather expect it to happen. The P= Plan. What is your step by step plan to make this goal happen. It is easy to set a goal but to execute that Goal you must have a specific plan. If your Goal is to lose 10 pounds in 90 days then begin the Plan to make it happen. First you weigh so you have the beginning point (like the GPS in your phone you have to tell it where you are starting from) then you begin controlling what you will put in your mouth, your daily exercise along with other areas to have a specific plan. Finally the S=System. Create a system that becomes automatic to work each day, if you know of someone who has created a system that works follow their system. Whether it be weight or business the GPS analogy works. From this day forward when you use a navigational GPS either in your car or on your phone, let it be a reminder to ask yourself have you set the GPS for your life?
