As a gay man in this community, I am here to tell you that none of the stereotypes you are attempting to attach to this community are true. Your attempt to hide behind the adversity of others and polarize the community is downright repugnant. You do no good for and DO NOT IN ANY WAY, represent the equality that you suggest you support. You give activism a bad name and have insulted many that I know in the process, both gay and straight. You cheapen and antagonize all of those who strive for equality with your use of OUR lives and experience by attaching your petty ‘political’ ambitions to us. Find a different mascot for your ire, perhaps one that can identify with you, because we do not. As a man of Jewish heritage, I can tell you that it is REVOLTING to see you draw a parallel between the county and its leaders, wherever they stand on whatever issues, to Nazi Germany. You fifthly the name and death of my grandmother, at the hand of true evil in Salapils, Latvia. You spit in her face and assume to put her up as a poster for your sad agenda, whatever that may be. HOW DARE YOU! You seem to forget that these were REAL people, that real lives were lost that at the hand of others, yet you assume to know what it is like to have been subjected, starved and euthanized. GET OVER YOUR OWN HATE and learn the lesson that all that have been though what you assume to identify with have, and that is patience, tolerance and understanding. Let me be forward with you. DO NOT USE THE NAME OF THE LGBT community to hide behind. Your attempt to throw us in the middle is sickening and not supported. DO NOT COMPARE ANYONE TO THE NAZIS OR THE PLIGHT OF THE JEWS IN EUROPE UNLESD THEY ARE ACTUALY NAZIS. How sad and sick is it that you must use the image of millions of the dead as a pulpit to further your ‘cause’. YOU MAY APOLOGIZE AND RETRACT YOUR STATEMNTS. No one is ‘Irredeemable’. A progressive and open mind as you claim to have cannot think in any other fashion. So which is it? It would make me sad to have to purchase my flowers, vegetables and gardening paraphernalia from the Canby area and not the hamlet, but we’re willing to boycott hate, wherever we find it.
