Cooperation for Innovation and the exchange of good practices / Strategic Partnerships Titulo Initiative to foster Social Entrepreneurship Experience of Youth (I SEE YOU) Duración 24 meses Institución coordinadora FH JOANNEUM GESELLSCHAFT M.B.H. Socios 7 Objetivo general I SEE YOU wishes to intersect offer a flexible, integrative approach to train & capacitate young people to become skillful social entrepr. The project aims at developing the capabilities & skills of young unemp. people (18-24), who have an affinity for IT and are interested in creating their own social businesses by strengthening their understanding of entrepr. education. A special focus will be put on migrant / minority youth that is facing additional barriers to entering the labor market. Through the introduce of clearly targeted trainings, the development of a business simulation tool and mentored activities such as business plan creation & first contacts to the business world, the participating youth will gain invaluable skills & proficiency by being supported from the start to the end of an entrepr. experience. The success of the project will be founded on young people going from unempl. to being skilled potential social entrepr. by following an integrative approach that can be replicated EU-wide at low costs by many different organizations. Participación de la UNED en el proyecto Tipo de participación Socio nº 3 – P3 Actividades concretas a desarrollar La UNED es la responsable de coordinar de realización de estas actividades asistida por el coordinador del proyecto: Output: International Youth Teams Once the unemployed young people have been found and included in the project in each partner country, they will be matched into transnational teams. It is important for the participants to gain self-confidence and develop a European perspective, if they want to become social entrepreneurs. Therefore, an exposure to other people from other cultures and backgrounds with different perceptions is seen as the easiest and most interesting way to achieve this goal. Meeting and interacting with young people from other countries will also increase the motivation of the youth to invest more effort into the project. The team language will be English. Objectives: i)To increase the understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity of unemployed youth ii)To enhance the motivation and satisfaction during the learning and practice exercises through diversity iii)To broaden the understanding of foreign practices and systems Conceptualization of training courses 5 training courses will be developed based on the outcomes of one of the first intellectual outputs in this project. They will each cover themes important for social entrepreneurship such as internationalization, business plan development, customer acquisition & sales, or leadership. The final topics will be decided once the analysis phase has been done. The training courses will be developed in English and shall be applicable for classroom teaching as well as e-learning activities. Classroom teaching will be done via video streaming, as not all learning participants will be able to be in the same room. E-learning exercises shall strengthen the knowledge and can be done individually. The organization will be in charge of the development of the training materials and shall ask for feedback and suggestions for improvements on the draft versions of the product. It will pre-test the e-learning exercises to make sure that the young people can properly use them to intensify their learning experience. Delivery of training courses & Certification The trainings will be held in two ways, classroom style and e-learning. The main parts will be covered through a video recording with a live Skype-session at the end to clarify questions. A live video presentation is considered to be too risky as internet speeds vary. If possible, the young people will meet at the premise of their local partner contact and take the class together. If travel distances are too far, separate learning can occur, but attendance needs to be proven through interaction. Each classroom training session will be followed up by individual e-learning exercises that need to be completed successfully by the participants. Once all 5 training modules have been delivered, the participants will receive a course completion certificate ratified by UNED. This will facilitate the recognition and validation of knowledge and skills acquired through the training and should enable the youth to own a recognized and valid certificate for their new qualifications, which they can use later in life in their CVs.
