CANCC Promotional Film Project and the Bureau of Explorers (filmmakers) Aims to promote and raise awareness of the Coalition & further promote the CANCC issues to respective audience and partners The promotional film is part of part of the overall media campaign to highlight the CANCC objectives as outlined in the Outcomes Document signed by respective members during the CANCC Inaugural meeting in July this year in Kiribati Outcome of project will see a 10-12 minute video that will showcase the respective unique but shared challenges each coalition member is experiencing in the face of climate change. The video endeavors to portray atoll nation’s vulnerability as being in the frontline and to instigate international attention to assist the challenges we are already facing on a daily basis. This is geared towards the COP21 in Paris 2015 where there is hope not only to have a new climate agreement in place but to also anticipate the we get special and immediate attention from the international community to address challenges we are already facing with climate change that is affecting our development and continued existence. The Film shooting consists of mainly two parts. The first was to capture each CANCC member’s efforts to negotiate their survival at international meetings. These have been undertaken in the recent SIDS and UNGA conferences (President Loeak was interviewed during this year’s UNGA). The second part of the filming now will capture the unique but shared challenges each respective CANCC nation is facing on the issue of climate change. Filmmakers that have been commissioned to oversee this project and make it happen are the Bureau of Explorers. Their commissioning was made possible through the generosity of the CANCC partners namely ROC (Taiwan) and Turkey who have pledged their support to the coalition during the inaugural meeting in July. Mr. James Gallant & Mr. Vern Cummins are the Bureau Explorers, who are the founding parterns of the Bureau of Explorers and who are undertaking the film/production of this project.
