CAST Meeting and Rally on Sept 20, 2014 A big thank you goes out to all who attended, spoke, asked questions, voiced concerns or offered their support at this mornings CAST Meeting in Royal Oaks Park. Approximately 70 people were in attendance. Total number is somewhat fluid, as it was a Saturday morning and there were people coming going throughout the two hour meeting. The number attending this meeting was double that of the previous general meeting where 35 attended--an indication the interest and support is increasing as there were numerous new concerned residents in attendance. The next milestone in the CAST effort is a fact finding field trip to Chino Hills to talk with involved residents and to view the SCE construction sites in that city. It must be noted that the SCE towers for the 500Kv transmission lines running through Chino Hills were completed (at the same level of completion as ours) and have now been dismantled and work is underway by SCE to bury the cables per the direction of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The next general meeting is currently scheduled for Saturday, 11 October 14. In the meantime, efforts will be continuing to collect signatures on the petition scheduled to be delivered to the CPUC no later then October 15, 2014. We are striving to collect 2,000 signatures from Duarte citizens on the petition.
