COFFEE BLUFF MARINA PROJECT UPDATE 8/23/13 – 9/06/13 Based on a number of inquiries and requests concerning the current and planned activities at the project site, routine updates will be provided. These updates will be provided following regularly scheduled progress meetings (1st and 3rd Tuesday) for the project. This is the 2nd update. Current Activities: Parking and driving areas are 80% complete. Parking areas are formed with pervious materials; whereas, driving areas will be either asphalt or concrete. Underground plumbing and electrical activities for the Marina store are nearing completion; and Delivery of backfill material. Upcoming Activities: Pouring of foundation slab for Marina Store; Pouring of slab for the 24’ x 36’ pic-nic shelter; and Delivery of Playground Equipment in the next 30 days. Frequently Asked Questions: Q: Where can I get project updates? A: For current project updates, an “Info Box” has been placed at the entrance to the project area. This same project update is sent via e-mail to representatives of the Crusader Center, Marine Rescue Squadron and Coffee Bluff Marina. The Crusader Center will print and post in the window of the entrance, the Marine Rescue Squadron has agreed to print and post on-site; and the Coffee Bluff Marina will be posting on their Facebook Page – Coffee Bluff Marina – just ‘Like’ them. You may also pick up a project update from the office of Alderman Tony Thomas, 12411 White Bluff Road. As always, if you would like to receive an update electronically, please e-mail - [email protected] – with “CBM Updates” in the Subject field, along with your name. Q: I noticed that the driving of sheet pile or concrete pile started, then stopped, when might it start back? A: Yes, the Coffee Bluff Marina Project called for the driving of sheet piles and concrete piles. As with any construction project, there are a lot of unknowns and the proximity to the waterway, often times will require an update to the State and Federal regulatory agencies, Department of Natural Resources and the Corps of Engineer, respectively. Once these updates are reviewed and approved, within the next 30-days, driving of piles will resume.
