COMELEC calls on young Kapampangans to register for SK polls By Joelyn G. Baluyut CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, July 19 (PIA) -- Commission on Elections (COMELEC) called on young Kapampangans to register for the upcoming Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections, which is slated on October 28, coinciding with the Barangay polls. “They must be Filipino citizens aged 15 to 17 years old who are residing in the village where they would like to register for at least six months,” said COMELEC Provincial Election Supervisor Lydia Pangilinan. Those who are qualified must troop to the COMELEC office from July 22 to 31 in their town or city and present a fully accomplished application form along with their birth certificate, baptismal certificate, school records, or any other document that will establish the identity of the registrant. Meanwhile, Pangilinan disclosed that the start of filing of certificate of candidacy for both the SK and Barangay elections would be held from October 15 to 17 while the campaign period is from October 18 to 26. Each village elects one SK chairman and seven kagawads.
