CPI(M) Kerala state secretary Com.Pinaryi Vijayan inaugurating the mass gathering at Kochi to commemorate Sahodaran Ayyappans 125th birth anniversary. Sahodaran Ayyappan, a visionary social reformer and thinker took the initiative to break the evil of caste barriers by organising a community feast in Cheari near Kochi in 1917. The feast, attended by over 200 persons including dalits, was marked in history as a spearheading movement against caste injustices.
