CRS: COUNTDOWN TO 2015 OFFSIDE FOR DONALD DUKE AND THE RETRUNEE Thursday November 6, 2014 will go down as one notable day in the history of the running entertainment show of shame of the Goddy Jedy Agba’s Governorship rallies. Yesterday’s rally was held in the premises of Holy Child Secondary School situated in Calabar South. It was unsurprisingly organized to welcome Goddy Jeddy Agba back to the country from wherever he disappeared to, fuelling earlier rumours that he was facing a critical health challenge. Yesterday’s show particularly paraded enthusiastic sycophants with strikingly intriguing and questionable integrity who had, at this rally, intermittently rendered sermons lacking in substance and deficient in its moral content. Interestingly the highlight of this event was Donald Duke’s repeated innuendo about monkeys and Liyel Imoke’s insincerity of purpose. However, it is not difficult to guess that yesterday’s event which rallied together an array of failed politicians whose common ground seems to be to destroy Cross River and it’s people and smear it’s leadership, is also involved in the unwholesome ploy to smuggle Goddy Jedy Agba into Government house in 2015 to continue their carnival of corruption like Donald did in his eight years of misrule. And it is this same malfeasance that Goddy Jedy Agba was involved in at NNPC at the expense of poverty stricken masses whose collective patrimony has been mortgaged by thieving public officers like Goddy Jedy Agba and Donald Duke who have become the very metaphor for corruption. The desperation of this group to produce a Governor, despite the glaring case of their unpopularity and the eventual likelihood of imminent failure facing them have often driven them to employ unruly means to alter the recently produced list of delegates in the just concluded congresses. Observers are of the view that Donald Duke might manufacture delegates from his hometown Akpabuyo, or Akwa Ibom state where most people claim he comes from. Political analysts are also of the view that he was unable to choose a successor as Governor after 8 years in office, even when he had the control of the party, how does he intend to do so now that he is without the enabling paraphernalia of office. Especially now that he has lost all relevance and influence. Venatius Ikem’s fate is worsened by the very fact that he could not make the list of delegates let alone produce one in his ward. If not for any other reason, Goody Jeddy Agba’s cause has successfully provided a rallying point for failed politicians. From the roll call of those present at yesterday’s event we need no crystal ball gazing to see that it was an amazing assemblage of who is who in failure. It is either they think we live in bottles to be blind to the havoc wrecked on us as a people in the name of Governance. Donald Duke’s activities in office observably ruined Cross River State’s economy, leaving us with a huge debt burden that has left us with a harrowing socio economic condition that we are yet to recover from. If not for the visionary leadership of Senator Liyel Imoke, Cross River State would have been condemned to remain in economic doldrums. WHO IS FOOLING WHO???
