Case study in leadership: What would you do? A new corporate leader is hired by the board into an ailing organisation and, over the next 6 months, replaces nearly all staff with more competent performers, through changes in job descriptions, and upskilling. The firm begins to operate much better now. The Board is kept informed of all staffing changes, and recently gives the leader a performance bonus. One of the unhappy former employees now circulates an anonymous scathing email about the leader to the board (essentially arguing the leader is a tyrant and treats the staff poorly) and to key customers, a few days prior to the debate on a major corporate re-organisation. What should the Board do?
