Cassie Evancich I think in summary is the vets are saying give us something worthy of critiquing. These vets with 50+ years didnt have someone to hold their hand learning, these vets had to spend hours trying to figure it out themselves, these vets have worked their entire life to achieve something so many of the newbies on this page think they are going to be doing in only a few years of practice. While I agree respect should be given both ways, and im in no way defending what some of the things I have read on here (from both sides) you have to acheive a certain level of skill by yourself before someone can tell you if youre on the right track or not. Buy the right materials, put in the time, ask questions when needed. Everyones stripes were horribly worse then they are now, but it took time, patience, and a lot of late night struggles to get there. A little self motivation and self discipline seems to lack in the world today, take a hint. I found this page AFTER I had struggled with finding the right brush, finding how to grip the brush right, find out how to palette, what paint, what thinner. I found the answers to my questions by actively going out and doing it myself through trial and error or by OBSERVING at car shows. Answer your own questions through OBSERVING. Alot of the questions Ive seen on here are questions you can answer by buying a basic pinstriping book or asking google. Dont waste your questions on things like how does this look instead ask them who they studied and where they take inspiration from. Dont use this forum as a crutch to hold your hand the entire learning process, use it as a tool to take what you research/know and advance from there. There is no harm in asking questions but after being asked a thousand time the same question youd get a little pissed to. The great pinstripers in this world taught themselves, the future great pinstripers of the world will do the same, Study their designs, study their videos, and mimic them. do as they do. Anyone can buy a brush, few will figure out how to use it. You will learn alot more asking about their work then asking them to tell you about your own. 21 mins · Edited · Like · 2
