Caught the replay from last nights’ semifinals….what a performance by Rafa Nadal in his victory over Roger Federer! With the quicker conditions and strong form that Roger showed in his wins over Tsonga and Murray, he was hoping to make it a chance for another Grand Slam final however Rafa just couldn’t be denied. Rafa was stronger in all parts of the game and kept Roger pinned to the baseline with heavy ground strokes making it tough for him to attack. Could be an interesting final - Rafa, going for his 14th Grand Slam title to tie Pete Sampras for Grand Slam titles, has never lost to Stan Wawrinka (12-0). And even though it’s the first Grand Slam final for Stan, he’s had an incredible 15 months, playing with a lot of confidence and looks much more in control out there…who knows maybe #13 is his lucky number.
