Censorship commotions are in the news lately. Robin Williams (may he rest in peace) comes to mind, in his role as a high school English instructor in Dead Poets Society. In that movie, the instructor ORDERS his students to rip out pages of a textbook that the instructor disagrees with. I would have admired an instructor who would have disagreed with someone elses message in a logical, reasoned, eloquent way. On the other hand, I was horrified by the violent act of censorship endorsed by Dead Poets Society, horrified by the message and by the censorship example. Ive never heard from anyone else (including college film instructors) who had the same reaction, though -- what do you think? Here it is. Much as I admired Williams, I thought this was just utterly wrong in principle: https://youtube/watch?v=tpeLSMKNFO4
