Change. Change is hard. Facing the reasons that change is - TopicsExpress

Change. Change is hard. Facing the reasons that change is necessary is sometimes even more challenging. Whether it is a life habit that needs to change or a job situation, change requires those in the midst of change to do a few things. First, look back--but only long enough to see the pitfalls and to confirm that going back is not an option. Pray for the courage to do what is necessary to be transformed. Next, look at where you are now and identify those things that are anchoring you to the present situation--things like fear and comfortability. Pray for the courage to do what is necessary to be transformed. Then, look ahead toward the possibilities and name them, write them out, prioritize them and the pray for the courage to do what is necessary to be transformed. If we are living comfortable lives that never require more than we can do of our own abilities, we are not being transformed and we are not growing in faith. It is only in situations where we must trust in The Lord to give us what we need to accomplish the goals, or to overcome the challenges, to which He has called us that we will begin to understand the power of the Holy Spirit. It is in beholding the glory of The Lord--His power, beauty, grace, mercy and love--that we begin to transform to be more like Him. And we all, with unveiled faces, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit (2 Corinthians 3.18). Our Lord faced the greatest challenges known to humankind and overcame. His power is in you because His Spirit is in you! What change are you facing? Pray for the courage to do what is necessary to be transformed from one degree of glory to another. Change is hard. However, not changing--not an option. Be transformed from one glory to another! Blessings, Deanna
