On the basis of their own response alone their broadcast should be stopped. Here is an analysis of the allegations leveled and still not addressed with some open questions for Mir Shakeel ur Rahman. Delay in your rebuttal: This response came after 6 days of allegations and that too from an un-named “TURJUMAAN”. In response to direct attack by Mubashir Lucman we were expecting a direct response from Mir Shakeel. Where is he and why is he afraid if this response is true? Give us a number and a name where we can clarify our concerns. Atleast tell us the name and designation of “turjumaan” who can provide further clarity. What kind of Journalism is this? Acceptance of Making a phone call to SECP chairman and Governor State Bank: You have kept your response vague but your “Turjumaan” has accepted that a higher up (“Muntazim aala”) probably you, have called in the interest of Justice to ensure that Mr. Jehangir Siddiqui get the well-deserved bank for the betterment of the nation!! So Nice of you Mir shakeel but please tell us how many calls you have made for the injustices going on in the society other than that for your Samdhi? Why you didn’t go to the court for Jehangir Siddiqui the way you went against Mubashir Lucman. Mir Shakeel I just can’t believe that you have accepted calling the heads of the most sacred institutions of this country and discussing with them a personal matter of handing over a bank to your Samdhi (daughters father-in-law) and you are calling it an act of kindness on the front page of your daily newspaper. Do you know your responsibilities as the editor in chief of the largest media group? And then when the Governor SBP didn’t listen, you published his story of acquiring a bullet proof car. There are 100,000 bullet proof cars being run by every tom, **** and harry. How many stories you have published on them. This must be your second act of kindness!! Do you know what will happen if President of United states call his FED chairman and ask him to give a bank to his Samdhi in the greater interest of the country? The president of US will be thrown out of office for interfering in FEDs matters. And here you are proudly accepting your blackmailing of nations top corporate autonomous institutions. UK funding: You accepted taking 950,000 pounds as donation from British Government as revealed in the House of Lords document but didn’t deny that the whole project was of 20 million pounds as mentioned by Lucman. Now deny this please?? We ask all British citizens to write to the government of United Kingdom under freedom of speech act and ask them to provide with the detail document of this deal of education department with GEO. The UK Government is bound to do so. We all will then know that your have sold the editorial content just like the way you offered in your proposal to US government. You took donation??!! Whom are you fooling Mir Shakeel? Donations are not obtained to run campaigns on your own channel. Your NGO is doing business as the whole amount is used for buying your own channel content for which you got money. Mir shakeel this **** is known as business and sale of editorial content is known as unethical and illegal business. You have made the MKRF foundation a very pimp in the process. Also even if it is assumed that you took only a million pound from British Government as accepted by you then why your broadcast license has not been cancelled as per the PEMRA regulations which strictly forbid foreign funding in any channel (S. 25 (d) of PO 2002 & S.1 (g) Of PR 2009 ) and what you did is funding by another government against the sale of your editorial content totally in violation of PEMRA rules. Nawaz sharif should either change the PEMRA ordinance on Foreign funding or should immediately ban GEO after this acceptance from you. Don’t let people ridicule our law. Lastly where are those Million pounds that you accepted taking from UK Government. Did you pay taxes. Were they sent to MKRF in Pakistan? Please show bank statements as that amount you received is lying in an offshore Island. Investigation into RAW Links: Please specifically deny you are not paid for AMAN ki Asha. What is the problem in this. We know people have proofs. But please deny this. Also you mentioned that the editor of the Hindustan times laughed on phone and denied its internal investigation report. Let me ask: will any sane media outlet ever accept that it is linked with its country’s intelligence agency? It was a LEAKED investigation report which means that it was leaked without the approval of Hindustan times so how would they accept this now. Also even after 7 days when the name of Hindustan Times is being linked with RAW and is being broadcasted and discussed in the whole of Pakistan and a large circle of people in India and abroad, they are still unable to publish a denial in writing?? Why? Some editor from there is just telling his buddy on phone in Pakistan!!! It simply means that they are guilty in the biggest manner. Also the inquiry report says that it was conducted by the chairman’s office and you have obtained a denial from the editor- and that too on telephone?? Whom are you fooling Mr. Shakeel. The circumstantial evidence suggest that the story was indeed planted by you as it named 2 of your biggest rivals who have taken you to courts in Pakistan. Your samdhi Jehangir Siddiqui was secretly in India at that very moments. Please deny this and we will show his passport has Indian entry during that time. Why would HT take off a story and publish a regret. There must be some investigation and we need to know what was that if you say the one we have is not correct. Mr. Imran Khan was 100% justified in demanding an inquiry. Then whole nation wants inquiry now more than ever. National Bank Rs. 1.7 Billion Default: You again didn’t mention anything about this Rs. 1.7 billion default of National Bank Loan and started naming other media defaulters. What a justification- “I am a thief because they are thieves”. Why didn’t you name them earlier in your papers if they were defaulters and you knew it? Please tell the nation clearly about your bank default of national bank for Rs. 1.7 billion for which they filed lawsuit in 2010 (B-11/2010 of Sind High Court). Till April 2013 you changed many lawyers in this lawsuit just to delay the process and finally on April 2013 you submitted in the lawsuit that a settlement is being reached but after that you didn’t do anything. Now you are blackmailing National bank to restructure that and write-off major portion of it. It won’t be a surprise that your so called investigative journalists start publishing news stories on the corrupt practices of National bank officers if they insist on recovering the loan!! Please deny this default and also explain to all the small businesses that even after this big default you managed to keep your name out of the CIB list of State bank which would have prevented you from taking further loans. But you kept on taking loans and recently you obtained a Rs. 300 million loan from Burj Bank in September 2013 by mortgaging the same equipment that you mortgaged with National bank. Please explain all this specifically instead of naming other defaulters as this is not the time for it. We will hear from you on others but first clarify yourself or admit that you are an equal culprit. Tax default: In your response you mentioned vaguely that there are some issues in Musharraf government and you were stopped due to which you couldn’t meet your tax liabilities and there are litigations and stay orders in tax matters. Mir Shakeel there is no doubt that you have cases totaling Rs. 6 Billion of tax default against FBR and some stay orders continued for you for over many years now although the apex court has given clear instructions to the high courts that if a stay is ordered against FBR then it should be disposed off within 6 months time but in your case those stay orders against FBR continued!! I have a question that during the last government due to bomb blasts my businesses suffered so should I stop paying taxes forever? and so does every Pakistani who paid extortion money and whose brothers and sisters are killed stop paying taxes because the government failed to protect them? Furthermore your channel was closed for 2 -3 months and you are claiming a loss of billions during those few months of 2007. It means you must have made billions of annual profits during 2006 a year prior to that and must have paid taxes on it. Please show that and take your 2 months of profits and return the remaining 5 billion or so you are not paying to the Government. Furthermore what Mubashir lucman showed in his program was a separate Rs. 1 billion default of Sind Revenue board and this is the last years default of taxes on advertising revenue and you do not have any stay order on it. You are managing this through threats to Sind revenue board officials of publishing news against them. Please specifically elaborate the letter written to PEMRA by Sind Revenue Board officials against your default of around Rs. 1 billion. Please clarify this in your response as it was a very specifically asked question. Movies from India: You accepted that movies were ordered from India and we agree that there may not be 100 billion revenue as stated by Lucman. You never shared the actual revenue but it must be in billions for 19 indian movies. The real question which Mr lucman raised and you ignored as usual is how you paid for those movies. Was it paid through banks then there must be a bank wire or documented transaction. There must be a 10% withholding tax that you must have submitted to tax authorities for buying foreign media content. Please share this otherwise Hawala and Hundi allegation is 100% correct and FBR is being blackmailed not to investigate this. If you have paid no money and obtained those movies free of charge then the allegation that Indian intelligence is supporting you is correct. Please clarify. Foreign Content aired in blatant violation of PEMRA rules: The PEMRA has allowed Pakistani channels to air only up to 10% foreign content; however your TV channel (GEO Kahani) is airing content far in excess of the permissible 10%. At least 60% of the current programming mix on the Geo Kahani channel is made up of Indian content and other non-English foreign content dubbed in Urdu like Turkish etc. This is 500% in violation of S. 7 (2) of your Terms of the License. Your such action is not only against law but also against national, cultural, social and religious values. Even after this blatant violation you have managed PEMRA not to cancel your license and till date you are violating your license terms and will continue blatantly as no one is there to stop you. Please answer this specifically. Proposal to US department of Justice selling editorial content for US$3 Million: Why there is no rebuttal in your response to this proposal which Mr. Lucman showed and discussed extensively in his 2 programs. Have you submitted this to US Government or not? Yes or No? Your daughter’s Rs. 1 billion wedding: Though you have the right to spend billions on your daughter’s wedding but not when you have liabilities of national bank and taxes to be paid. You fully booked the most expensive hotel madinat Jumeirah of Dubai to hold the grand even having Shahrukh khan, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, karan johar, Karishma Kapur and thousands of celebrities all travelled and boarded there on your expense. Shame on you. The Pictures are all over internet including the Rs.100,000 wedding invitation card. Please clarify this as well. Your Undeclared foreign wealth and your status as Non-resident Pakistani. Your status in Pakistan is as a non-resident Pakistani who lives just one or two weeks in Pakistan. You are editor in chief of the whole media group. You have hoarded a trove of wealth outside Pakistan and hence you have no stakes here. How can you feel the pain of citizens here?
