Cold autumn morning, making an attempt to wash my hair. You set up the water, hot tap on, cold tap on - water runs cold for ages but youre willing to risk it because you know the relief of the warmer water is on the way. Its just like the spiritual walk with Jesus; cold water on a freezing day will certainly come, but you know the warmth will come, too, so you hang on - just waiting, waiting, waiting for that relief to come. He will come, too, like a thief in the night. Even in our present age that relief will come, the warm water will gently flow and soothe the aching and dullness of the cold. It wont become hot like a furnace (though we do certainly have furnaces in our lives as well), itll be a gentle heat, one that takes away the pain from inside. He can meet with you today, any day. Let the warm water of the Holy Spirit flow over you and enable you in this time of coldness, frost and freezing.
