Colossians 1:27 (NIV); “To them God has chosen to make known - TopicsExpress

Colossians 1:27 (NIV); “To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” I havent stopped singing the theme song (“Everything” by Tim Hughes) the Lord laid on my heart to share at the spiritual retreat last weekend - have you ever had one of those songs? I remember a great couple, Hadrian and Michelle Zeiler, sharing it with me and it has been on my heart ever since. I have attached the YouTube clip below for you to listen to, and, perhaps you’ll find yourself constantly singing it too! The call is to worship God in absolutely everything you do, and in every part of your life. It’s Jesus in you, at the centre of who you are, and what you do. Is that what he is to you? Is he your “everything”? How far are you willing to go in your relationship with him, and, how much are you willing to surrender? The bridge to the song is “Christ in me, the hope of glory” obviously taken from this verse, which I would like you to listen to and journal on what that means to you, and whether it is a reality in your life. Is he your everything, or is something else occupying your time and your devotion? Why is that important for you to understand? Well, what or who you are devoted too is what or who you will love, be loyal to, be enthusiastic about, and will determine your commitment. It is clear that, what/who you are devoted to, you will certainly become committed to. So, again, is Jesus your everything? Is Christ “in” you? If you have accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour and have surrendered (most important) your life to him, then he is “in” you, but, what does that mean to you? Are you one of those who have accepted Christ as your Lord and Saviour but do not embrace your relationship with him? There is a cost to not consciously and constantly embracing “Christ in you, the hope of glory” – we miss his presence. Your only hope of truly and factually knowing the glory of God is becoming aware of Jesus in you. Listen, the same Jesus who walked the earth two thousand years ago is actually living in you, moving in and through you right now. “Christ in you, the hope of glory”. My prayer is that you, as a follower of Jesus, will comprehend this fact today, and be reminded that, although it is always true, we only experience it when we know it, nurture it, and truly believe it. So may you desire to know Christ in you in actual experience every single day, so much so that the evidence of Jesus in you and the knowledge of the hope and glory, will be the outflow of who you are. Listen to the song “Everything” by Tim Hughes and then journal your response to our verse for today and seek Jesus’ response:- https://youtube/watch?v=Wg_OK1V8mGs
