Commenting on the article of the THE TODAY NEWSPAPER, Wednesday, April 23-2014, Page 3. (Sint Maarten) SOCIAL REFORM PARTY.... The SRP promotes the rights of our citizens. Including rights to education, rights of the child, rights of the elderlies, pensioners, and those on welfare, to name a few. In our application to the Prime Minister of Sint Maarten in 2013, as well as as the Electoral Council in 2014, we clearly state that we will be obedient and in compliance with our Constitution, Human Rights, and the article of association. We also respect the WHO as well as cooperate with NO-SMOKING in the workplace policies applied by the Minister of Health. But we donot prevent commercialization nor free enterprise. Each party has its own prerogative and SRP also has a right to discourage and prevent what it deems harmful habits. Therefore we cannot advocate for any specific product to be removed from the shelf. Likewise in our manifesto we encourage a NATIONAL EXAM AND NATIONAL GRADING SYSTEM which will allow all churches and private schools to operate schools on Sint Maarten as long as they abide by the inspection and requirements. This means that they must teach and prepare all students to pass the National Exam to get a high-school diploma. We are in fact having our own GED substitute and more.... Our Manifesto includes a section on privatization of public facilities to attract investment and to give workers more option and choice of employers..... Our views on sovereignty and independence....
