Community Question…please keep it peaceful and respectful towards children, parents & each other! I need some help. Ive been so encouraged by your page. But I am at a loss. A total loss. I have 3.5 year old twin boys and an 18 mo old baby. I grew up being spanked and thinking that was the only way to effectively parent. 6 months ago I completely stopped spanking and am 100% thrilled with my decision and so very proud of my follow thru and determination. But, Im struggling so much. My kids are running my house. I dont want to control them, but honestly, I have no order. Some days are good, but days like today when everything is a fight I feel like pulling my hair out! I am so determined to learn to peacefully parent but I honestly dont know what to do. The only positive parents Ive been around let their kids rule the roost. I want to have boundaries without control or anger. But thats all Ive ever known personally. It did so much damage growing up in a home like that! I dont want to duplicate that with my sweet angels but I need help. Real practical help. The defiance and hitting from them is normal at this age I know but I am so frustrated w feeling like I dont know how to help them really learn better ways to respond when upset. Please help me. I want to be the mum my babies need who loves unconditionally without anger.
