Congrats to the winners of Charities Governance Award (CGA) 2014! They included Handicaps Welfare Association, Methodist Welfare Services, Ren Ci Hospital, RSVP Singapore - The Organisation of Senior Volunteers, and SATA CommHealth. When I launched the CGA two years ago, I was concerned about charities not being able to fulfill their potential because they were held back by weak governance. Today, Im glad to see that the sector is working hard to adopt good governance practices. How can we do better? i shared that we should reach out, reach across, and reach deep within. Its impt not to be insular, but reach out to other sectors, learn from their best practices and inspire them to join us. Its also impt to reach across the sector to share best practices and level up as a sector. Above all, reach deep within us... Remind ourselves of the purpose and meaning of why we are here, the shared values that anchor us in our service to the community. Hope we can go fwd together and inspire others to walk this journey with us...
