Consistency in Character God is the same, yesterday, today and - TopicsExpress

Consistency in Character God is the same, yesterday, today and forever. The reason why he has continued to provoke our reverence and great affection is because of his unchanging character. It is for this reason that we can trust him. We always know what to expect from him. He is kind, compassionate, slow to anger. And even when he gets angry, his anger is only but for a moment....but his mercies endure forever. His love is unfailing, and even in our unfaithfulness, he still remains faithful towards us. Being consistent is one of the most important aspects that build up trust in any relationship, whether business, romantic or friendship.People are looking for reliable people....!! Let’s face it, no one wants to hang around someone with changing standards and values. People who contradict themselves all the time are just straight up....hard to hang around. A person with a consistent character in a relationship allows the other person to feel secure. You can defend someone only if you have witnessed a certain way of behavior for long enough to believe that they consistent. So in the long run, being consistent will work in your favor. At the beginning of any relationship....let me be honest, a bit of mystery is exciting, but hey....no one wants to hang around a stranger for too long. Mystery can create interest, but trust will make someone stay...and trust is only build by a series of opportunities or scenarios where good character is displayed. Consistent character is a sign that a person is solid and grounded. Many of the relationships that we have messed up is because we changed over time....and just like you don’t like surprises, people also don’t like to be surprised. Many of us, under pressure, have said stuff we have lived to regret over years. Jesus is amazing though, because he is one example of a man who was constantly surrounded by pressure, but still kept a consistent character. He was always under great scrutiny as a leader, he was under pressure to do the right thing all the time, he was under pressure to become a political leader and become the solution to Israel’s cry, he was famous, he faced many opposition from influential people. Unending is the list of ‘pressures’ that Jesus faced. And let me tell you something, you can fake ‘good character’ for a day...you can even fake it for a week but when pressure comes, it distinguishes the boys from the men...and the girls from the women. But we see Jesus, constantly filled with mercy towards his opposers and being compassion towards those that were in need. We see him loving the unlovable and defending the voiceless. We see him being consistent in character and gaining great respect for that. In your relationship, let this mind be with you, that was also with Christ, that circumstances will not change your mood, attitude, character or response in situations. Let all you do be consistent and word governed. May the Peace of God that surpasses all understanding overshadow you and give you a consistently good character, for the sake of you and your ‘beloved’. #Blessings SWAG
