Constructive Act # 187 - HELP US OUT HERE - On October 8th, the DDF will bring another Symposium to the wonderful people of our community. This Symposium will be on the Continuum of Care and will once again take place at Marietta High School beginning at 7:00 pm. Dr. Teresa Johnston of Kennesaw State University will be our keynote speaker and our own DDF Medical Director - Dr. Harold McLendon will be speaking on the properties of opiates and the drug therapies available to combat the addiction. We are excited for the knowledge we will be bringing you at this event. We will also be handing out Narcan kits to those in need on this night. We have decided to expand our mission to include keeping addicts alive until we can provide a better solution to the horrific addiction and epidemic that we are suffering through. There is not one incredible, sure-fire, absolute solution and we are intelligent enough to realize this. With this being said, we are committed to keeping opiate/heroin addicts alive until we can offer a more comprehensive solution that will allow addicts to enter recovery and stay there. Here comes the part where we need your help and you can contribute to helping the DDF help others. Reach out to the Rehab and Recovery facilities that you are aware of and invite them to our event. We will be hosting a Rehabilitation and Recovery Vendor Fair for this event and we are in need of vendors who offer services in the area of opiate/heroin addiction. We already have many vendors who are registered to show up and talk to the attendees about what they have to offer. For a donation based on what they are able to contribute, we will set up a table and allow them to market and advertise their services. We have vendors from as far away as Boynton Beach, Florida who have already made their donations and reserved table space. Marietta PD will have a table to show families of addicts the tests that you can purchase to check for opiates in the body. We also will have Quest Diagnostics to market their new test to Doctors. Their test will allow for prescription drug monitoring. We need Rehab centers, halfway houses, IOPs and any organizations who have something to offer in the way of Recovery. Private practices as well as Counselors, psychiatrists, and therapists are welcomed too. If you would like to make a donation and reserve table space, please send an email to Davisdirectionfoundation@gmail. We would love to have you join us not only for the night , but also for the fight against opiate/heroin addiction. We will send you our vendor letter and the instructions for joining us for the night. WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
