Coos County Loses One of its Finest! A man well-known and well-loved in Coos County died Thursday morning in a tragic accident. Phil Bowman was a worker for the city streets department. He suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by the gate of a dump truck at Ferry Street Park. He was transported to BAH by North Bend Police and Fire where he passed away from his injuries. Many people knew Phil Bowman for driving the streetsweeper and for his volunteer work throughout the community. He also served 20 years on the North Bend School Board. Phil Bowman is survived by his lovely wife Cheryl and four children. Arrangements are pending through Coos Bay CHapel and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Phils family and friends. Coos County has lost a wonderfully giving friend. #CCN
