Current efforts is indicative that Nigeria is on the right track to achieve complete eradicating polio by 2017 considering the sustained progress being recorded in reducing the wild polio virus cases. For example, only six cases of polio were recorded in 2014, compared to 51 and 103 in 2012 and 2013 respectively. So far no case of WPV in 2015 as at week 4, 2015. We all need to appreciate the fact that poliomyelitis is a highly infectious, viral disease that attacks the nervous system especially among children under five years of age who are the most vulnerable. Help and avail your eligible children for timely immunization with the oral polio vaccine which is the most effective way to prevent infection and the vaccine is not only FREE but the right of every child.
