D-Day is near!!! Less than 24 hours remain before VOC switches over to its new, unshared 91.3fm frequency, which will be its dominant channel, five times stronger than all its other frequencies. At midnight tonight, technicians will be heading up to the transmitter on Tygerberg Hill to ensure that the new frequency can go live with the official broadcast scheduled to start at 6am on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Tuesday will be a test day on 91.3fm with a test signal being heard intermittently on the new frequency. Stay tuned throughout the day for updates as VOC prepares for its big day, one it had waited for since inception 18 years ago.
